Why Freeze Dried Sweets Are Perfect for a Weekend Gaming Marathon

A weekend gaming marathon needs a few essentials: your favourite games, charged controllers, comfortable seating and plenty of snacks within reach. Whether you’re playing online with friends, tackling a new release or organising a multiplayer tournament, freeze dried sweets can add something different to your usual gaming snack selection.

Their light, crunchy texture makes familiar confectionery feel completely different, giving you plenty of varieties to discover during those well-earned breaks between games.

Upgrade Your Gaming Snack Selection

Crisps, chocolate and fizzy drinks might be gaming staples, but there’s no reason your snack table has to look the same every weekend.

Add a few varieties of freeze dried candy and you’ve instantly got something more unusual to try.

During freeze drying, moisture is removed from the confectionery. Many sweets that would normally be soft or chewy become crisp and airy, while some can expand considerably in size.

That means even sweets you’ve eaten countless times before can become a completely different snacking experience once freeze dried.

Put several varieties into separate bowls and keep them near your gaming setup so everyone can help themselves between matches.

Create a Gaming Sweet Challenge

If you’re playing competitively with friends, make the sweets part of the tournament.

Choose several varieties from a freeze dried gift set and number each one without revealing the original sweet. Between matches, everyone tries a piece and guesses what it was before being freeze dried.

Correct guesses earn bonus points that can be added to your gaming leaderboard.

You could also ask everyone to rate each variety and reveal the group’s favourite at the end of the night.

Just make sure everyone agrees on the rules beforehand. Losing a tournament because somebody earned a bonus point for correctly identifying a sweet could cause considerably more controversy than expected.

Keep the Weekend Interesting

Gaming marathons aren’t necessarily about sitting in front of the same game for hours without stopping.

Switch between different games, take regular breaks and have food and drinks ready so the weekend feels more like an event.

Freeze dried sweets can fit easily into the snack selection, whether you’re sharing them with friends or simply trying a few different varieties while working through your latest game.

You can even choose a new sweet every time you complete a level, win a match or achieve an in-game milestone.

So, before your next gaming weekend begins, get everything prepared, stock the snack table and make sure the controllers are fully charged.

Because running out of battery during the final match is bad enough. Running out of sweets at the same time is considerably worse.
